Goodwin Classic Homes Breaks Ground on Authentic English Country Home on Lake Wylie

Goodwin Classic Homes recently broke ground on this classic English Country custom home on the shores of Lake Wylie. Designed by E. Frank Smith Residential Design, the understated elegance of the home downplays its' very large size of over 10,000 square feet under roof. Elegant, simple, and classic architecture blends with natural materials and workmanship of ultimate quality. We found a very large quantity of reclaimed Buckingham slate to dress the roof. This highest quality slate is near 100 years old, and it has only begun its useful life of several centuries. Imagine how many asphalt shingles this roof will keep out of the landfill! It will blend beautifully with the limewashed brick we selected. Heavy copper gutters and thick, natural bluestone porches will complement the exterior. And on the interior, features such as handscraped plank flooring, natural stone counters and baths, inset cabinetry, commercial appliances, and hand-carved marble mantles with authentic masonry fireplaces just begin the quality features list! The owners are very excited to have this project underway, and I am honored to have the opportunity to deliver it to them.
